11/18 Thursday - Time to Go!
The day has finally come! We have had a COVID Rapid test to get into Italy, a COVID PCR test for Norwegian (NCL), and filled out paperwork for Delta, Italy, and France. It is time to get on the plane and head to Europe.
Friday - Arrival in Italy!
Fiumicino - A fishing village not far from the Rome airport. It proved to be a wonderful location to adjust to our new time zone. Great seafood and walking along the Tiber River as the fishing boats returned to sell their catch. Highly recommend for those transiting the Rome area.
The gang poses in front of the Hotel Tiber, which provided lodging for the night. Our rooms provided wonderful views of the Tiber River and the movements of the fishing boats. It also has a rooftop bar. It definitely deserves the four stars that are displayed on their sign.
Oh did we find a amazing restaurant off the main drag and enjoyed a true local seafood meal!
Desserts, coffee, and a digestif followed our first dinner together, and then it was time to waddle back to the hotel. The toll of a full belly and lack of sleep was weighing on everyone’s eye lids. Tomorrow morning our true adventure begins on NCL Epic.
