The day was finally here, it was time to get on the ship! To accomplish this task we must gain a NCL Epic card with our name on it. The card would become our passport to get on/off the ship, the key to open our cabin, it was needed to get a drink at the bar, or make dinner reservations, and it granted us spa entry. However, there were two hoops to jump through before receiving the all important card. One more COVID Rapid Test was required before entry would be granted and another security screening much like at the airport. After our brains were tickled, we sat in a room with large screen televisions flashing numbers. The wait was about 20 minutes when our numbers were finally projected. Yippee, we are clean of the germ!
Walking up the glass covered ramp afforded us the first real view of the NCL Epic… Wow is it big!
We explored the ship ending up on the fantail - Deck 16. Grabbing a stool at Spice H20 bar for the pending sail away party, our view was awesome. We all toasted with margaritas and we knew that our adventure had officially begun!
After listening to electronic dance music (EDM) blasting away for longer than anyone should and having finished two margaritas it was time to go. We went in search of our room to make sure our the luggage would be joining us on the trip.
We were pleasantly surprised that indeed the suitcases were there, and the room was bigger than we thought offering a ton of storage options. Of course, the balcony curtains were thrown open immediately revealing our view which would be enjoyed for the next two weeks.

After dinner, it was showtime! You would have thought Tom died and went to heaven. In the large Epic theater tonight was a Santana cover band! A great show and the percussion section was HOT! As soon as the show was over, we hustled to the Cavern Club to catch a set of The Beatles. We could not have asked for more.
We were off to a great start!
